h33t is a public filesharing site where BitTorrent files are indexed, but with a difference: all our h33t approved torrents are described in detail, most have beautiful descriptions. we are justly proud of our high quality torrents, in the world of public trackers h33t is the leader in quality filesharing, join us and help grow the collection
h33t is founded on the principle the internet is a global free library, without censorship or control or taxation. when did you last pay to use a library, to borrow a book, a music cd, a movie, or a game? in the same way you return your borrowed copies to your bricks and mortar library, it is important to seed your torrent downloads to give back what you have taken so the library can continue
h33t is a non-profit organisation, we are a library in the traditional sense. h33t is not a financial venture, we exist to provide content to those who normally seek the services of a library: the students, the researchers, the young, the old, the disenfranchised, the browsers, the try-before-you-buy, and importantly, those outside of the dollar/euro economic zones. the site costs are paid from donations because of the love of what we do, our commitment which means everyone regardless of background or country, of wealth or opportunity, without exception will have unconditional access to the global free library
membership is free. if you enjoy the content you find on the site then support the authors by buying their product. not all content on h33t is available commercially and not everyone has the cash for the original price, if this is so then make a donation to h33t to help with the costs of the servers. all donations disable adverts and if you subscribe to h33t you get yourname@h33t.com email address!

h33t site privilege is awarded for uploading and seeding and making great descriptions. site privileges include trusted uploader status, access to hidden VIP forums, and access to higher ranks with greater privileges.
basic member ranks:
guest
- a guest can download and is free to enjoy h33t. as soon as a guest registers they become candidates for a h33t rank and their torrent uploads are then moderated. it is not scary, it is not difficult, it means you get a personal coach to help you make great torrents

- a full member. your uploads are moderated by experienced uploaders and you are given the help you need to make perfect torrents, when you demonstrate a working knowledge of our system then you are promoted to a trusted uploader rank

- an uploader of external torrents. this is the highest rank an uploader of external torrents can achieve, to progress to linnaeus the uploader must first become a firestarter
