Fear Itself The Home Front 1 of 7 [h33t][drknark]
"Fear Itself" is a 2011 seven-issue crossover comic book storyline published by Marvel Comics. The core eponymous miniseries will be written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Stuart Immonen, Wayne Von Grawbadger, and Laura Martin, while the prologue book starring Captain America and Namor will be produced by writer Ed Brubaker and artist Scott Eaton.
In addition, to this, the event also features a sister miniseries in a fashion similar to Civil War: Frontline, and ties into all of Marvel's major ongoing regular titles, such as most of the X-Men family of books. "Fear Itself" was first announced by then-Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada, Executive Editor Tom Brevoort and X-Men group editor Axel Alonso at a press conference held at Midtown Comics Times Square on December 21, 2010. It is the first company-wide crossover event since 2008's "Secret Invasion". The story, whose title is a reference to a famous quote by Franklin D. Roosevelt, depicts the various superheroes of the Marvel Universe contending with the God of Fear, a supervillain who will use the characters' worst fears against them. Although it is a company-wide crossover, it emphasizes Captain America and Iron Man, as with past crossovers of the late 2000s.[2]
