Sean en Francis Sulivan zijn twee jonge Amerikaanse broers met een Ierse achtergrond. Het familiedrama waarin ze door hun maffiapraktijken in verzeild raken, speelt in het begin van de jaren tachtig van de vorige eeuw in het troosteloze Manhattan. De broers zijn verwikkeld in een voortslepend conflict met de veel sterkere Italiaanse maffia. De strijd duurt al drie jaar, links en rechts vallen de slachtoffers. De enige zekerheid die de broers zelf hebben, is dat de kogel komt. De enige onzekerheid die hen parten speelt, is dat ze niet weten wanneer.

Sean Sulivan and Francis are two young American brothers with an Irish background. The family drama in which they practice their mob end up, playing in the early eighties of the last century, in the disconsolate Manhattan. The brothers are embroiled in a protracted conflict with the much stronger Italian mafia. The fight continued for three years, left and right are the victims. The only certainty that the brothers themselves, is that the ball comes. The only uncertainty playing tricks on them is that they do not know when.
