Dimlight were founded sometime in 2006 by two members of a now defunct metal project. In a few months' time they were already performing on various athenian metal/rock scenes.

They always say that they search musical paths with artistic fervor and they don't consider themselves as enthusiasts of a specific metal genre although their choices tend to have a pattern. Having said that, one could ask himself “ok, so what makes this band distinguishable?”.

Well, sometimes you struggle to be unique just for the sake of it. Usually you end up acting silly or over-the-top and while you may have it your way and people may notice you for a while, if your music isn’t interesting the attention won’t last.

Dimlight aren’t trying to reinvent the wheel. They express themselves with music and they experiment with sounds and tunes and feelings derived by those sounds, something that often gets lost somewhere between image making and carefully constructed marketing campaigns.

That is why before becoming Dimlight they had to prioritize their “wants” and “needs”. They want to experiment musically-as all musicians do actually. They want to explore, to journey through the thin boundaries of metal genres. They need to play music-they are friends after all and playing music with your friends is one of the best things life has to offer.

They want people to listen to their music -their art- because they want you with them on that journey. All of this isn’t easy. Especially here in Greece were bands tend to damage and not support each other. That is why they had many ups and downs until they finally managed to stay united and determined to do the unthinkable: play music with their hearts.

The only fundamental form that they don’t want to change is the combination of deep male brutal and female vocals. The one completes the other. It is the ying to the other’s yang.
